my keyboard skills aren't yet back to normal but I am now walking with a 4-point cane, climbing stairs, folding laundry, dropping things in tubes, standing on one leg like a flamingo for a few seconds and doing all sorts of therapy tricks...all toward regaining strength in the collapsed muscles as well as regaining my sense of balance. they say I will be walking without support by next Wednesday, the day I go home, October 5.

after that, I will do outpatient therapy until my skills are perfected.
long ago, stroke victims just lived with the losses. now aggressive therapy immediately after the event has been discovered to be successful, the outcomes are much more hopeful.
and I have been blessed with AGGRESSIVE THERAPY!

bless you for keeping me in your prayers and know that I keep you all in my heart!

Oh Becky, you go girl. You are right; it's a whole different ballgame for strokes in this day and age. So glad you have access to therapy. So glad you are improving. My husband deals with stroke and TBI patients and I know you are on the right path.

I have seen first hand the benefits of physical therapy after a stroke. It turned my mother's life from tragedy into triumph. So, you go girl!

You are an expert at balance so I know you'll get this right too!

It's a game changer, for sure. Though, hard for the patient and her family, physical therapy makes all the difference. Glad to know you're getting stronger. Sorry to hear you had to undergo surgery.

I'm so happy you'll be home soon and that your therapy is going well. You can do it! I'm thankful for modern medicine and the changes in stroke survival and regaining what was lost. You're in my prayers!

By now you'll be back in your home - nothing better to be there to continue your recovery. So glad the aggressive therapy has helped you get to this stage. Sorry I haven't left a comment earlier, but I too am having what you might call aggressive treatment every week day which seems to take up the whole of the day and then I need to rest, but I've been thinking of you non-the-less and continue to pray for you, dear Becky.
