Pumpkins, Zinnias, and Sunshine

We're back in Florida where sunshine abounds. The brilliant oranges of Fall appear in local garden stores and we're busy in our back yard, cutting away the extra growth borne of summer rains. Occasionally, a cold front sweeps southward from the northern frontier...which we love...only to disappear into higher temps again. We're snowbirds following the sun so we're OK with it.

Lovely photo, Becky.
How I wish we could go to Florida for the winter months.
Thank you for your kind words you left at my blog today.
You are so sweet to me.

Lots of vibrant color there. Most of the leaves here have fallen.

Enjoy your eternal sunshine, Becky. We all envy you. Not really...

It sounds like an interesting life, two distinctly different locales, and cultures too, perhaps. Do you find you are different somewhat in each location?

I have two sisters in central Florida and got text from one last week week when they had one day cool enough to light the fireplace logs. They envy us in autumn and we envy them in January!

Your Zinnias make me happy! Ours are fading fast, the ones that weren't eaten by darling little caterpillars.

Ah, you are back in you other world. Happy transition.

Fondly,

Dewena, yes, the two locales provide us with different cultures, people, and experiences. We like to think of our snowbird thing as a lifestyle adventure which will end one day when managing two places becomes too much for us. At that point, we'll return to our roots in Minnesota/Iowa. Our main reason for leaving the north in the winter is the danger of ice...driving in it, working in it, falling down on it...

Now I know where all the colours have gone. You have taken them and left us with the greys :-)

My zinnias were zapped by frost this morning...so sad! Your post just goes to show you that Fall is beautiful in hot or cold! Enjoy your sunshine oasis!

Ooooooh pretty colors! I've been photographing the California version of fall colors here, but this makes me want to get some flowers. (I have the pumpkin. :)
