Seawashed

There is one spectacle grander than the sea,
that is the sky;
there is one spectacle grander than the sky,
that is the interior of the soul.
~~Victor Hugo, Les Miserables

The South Jetty on the island of Venice, Florida, perfect for gazing inward and out.

"Doesn't it seem to you," asked Madame Bovary, "that the mind moves more freely in the presence of that boundless expanse, that the sight of it elevates the soul and gives rise to
thoughts of the infinite and the ideal?"
~~Gustave Flaubert, Madame Bovary

Love that spot. We are so blessed to have the jetty in our neck of the woods. Both sides are equally awesome. You captured it well.

Aren't we lucky to live in a country that has such vast scenery, beauty and diversity? Love your pics and wish I was somewhere near sun and warmth! It's freakin' freezing here today! But the outdoors and the sky can look amazing in any weather and location.

This photo reminds me of the waves crashing on the rocks at our local seaside resort in Italy. Dreaming of those Summer days!

You caught that first shot perfectly-the spray resembles a flower petal.
