...sweet sunshine and sandbars,
sunlight shifting through the trees,
and silver chardonnay...
sipping the last of the summer wine...
so sorry to see the season slip away.

I am sipping with you, an ocean away.
so swiftly fleeting ...
I would love to sip some silver chardonnay and savor what is left of summer. I drink it down to its very last drop.
beautiful! just the words... silver chardonnay and sandbars! but...
i'm the odd man (woman!) out here.
we have had the most brutal summer of my life this year. months of temps in the mid-100's. it's like 98 is actually like a cold front!!!
but i like the way you make summer sound. maybe someday i will live where summer is like that... to be enjoyed rather than endured!!!
i'm sorry guys but i'm ready for AUTUMN. i even like to say it!!
autumn. autumn. fall. fall. fall.
YES!
love anyway,
tammy j
Packing...for our visit to Crescent...Lots of wonderful wines are coming with us...to sip on the sand...

I'm so sad to see summer slipping away. It was wonderful here at the lakehouse.
I'm sipping wine from the Melon Fest in Howell this past weekend...soothing and oh so sweet.
I like your post, Becky!
Hugs,
Debbie
Sipping the last of the summer wine sounds so lovely.
I'm sorry to see summer slipping away--not enough done or enjoyed.
But fall is a wonderful season, and now that school is about to begin, I guess, so should fall (at least for us).
Happy Summer moments to be thankful for! There's nothing like the taste of one's own produced wine, though; courtesy of Italian family 'angels' who look after our Italian vines and small production when we're in the UK and share when we're in Italy. However, Summer sipping is over (although we still make our own wine in the UK)and we look forward to Autumn days.
one last weekend to make the most of....simply super sipping slowly....
I haven't had any wine in a while, it doesn't seem to agree with me anymore! But I agree with your sentiment!
such a sweet and silvery poem... although, as you know, summer is far from over down here!
DID it slip away? Hard to convince me in the 100 degree *summer* weather. But more rains...always a good thing! When are ya heading back to the steam?
OH, well. Summer with you and autumn with us :-)
That wine looked nice, though ...
That's a very unusual wine bottle! Love the way the wine glows in the picture, too.
It passes so quickly, doesn't it? The wine looks delicious,
So long, summer . . .
Fondly,
Glenda
