House Tour

Mise (pronounced mee-sha) at Pretty Far West
 and Julie at Being Ruby
asked to see more of our Florida cottage.
I'm happy to oblige...as we will soon leave it behind
and I'll miss its pistachio and plumbago hues.
It's nearly time to go Iowa for the summer
where our apartment's colors
 are more field and farm~~
milk and cream, black and white, bittersweet and cranberry.

We have terrazzo floors throughout...cool to the feet and ever so retro :)

The green leather chair is a recliner. :)

This is "Cedric," our double chaise. So comfortable!

These bi-folds keep the water heater and garbage bin hidden
in the laundry room.

high-top breakfast table

We use the lanai as a dining room...the garden beyond for ambience.

Wow!..it is so fresh and light and bright and uncluttered.....so Tropical!...which is my fave look! You have had fun with color yet it is subdued and not in your face. All the white really balances everything. I would be heartbroken to leave for the summer. Does it get too hot and humid or is it just freaky waiting for a hurricane?...love your home! best, Susan

It's very you, Becky - airy and calm and yet beautifully vivid. What a lovely place to live. And the Florida tree is very amusing with its parasols and tropicana!

Thanks so much for satisfying our curiosity!!... Your place is so fresh and happy!!! Beautiful tropical colours.. inside and outside.. I love those big windows letting the outside come in.. we do that a lot here also.. must be the similar weather...

I'd feel like I was on a holiday living there.. lovely... uncluttered feel.. and cute beach towels hanging on display to remind you the ocean is only a blink away..

Thanks again!!!.. and gee.. do I recognize that kitchen? heheh... Have a lovely weekend... ciao xxxx Julie

Gorgeous colours, Becky! I love everything about your Florida home.
I wonder if your bougainvillea survived? - I remember you writing about it and your first photo reminded me of it.

Wow...stunning. The tropical colors are so perfect together, such clean beautiful lines, and the terrazzo flooring is so vintage and perfect. We had it in our first home here in Florida, had a high polished gloss, and it was so nice on hot summer days. I totally miss it! Enjoy your summer with family and friends...will miss this blog while you're gone.

So, did you need a caretaker while your in Iowa for the summer?

Honestly though, your cottage is so crisp, clean and oh, so retro! I love your color choices and Cedric is SO cool!

I've always admired homes such as this, but I'm such a clutter bug, that I could never pull it off myself. My gosh, where would I ever put all my shells?

That shelf unit is FABULOUS!!!!!
