Walking on Water

People usually consider walking on water
 or thin ice a miracle.
But I think the real miracle is not to walk
either on water or thin ice,
But to walk on earth.

Every day we are engaged in a miracle
which we don't recognize:
a blue sky,
white clouds,
green leaves,
the black, curious eyes of a child~~
our own eyes.
All is a miracle.
~~Thich Nhat Hanh (Vietnamese monk)

"All is a miracle."

Sometimes difficult to see in the wake of disaster. I suppose the beauty in people, binding together, even when the world doesn't look so good.

I just read a blog from someone in Japan. She said without the electricity in her city, she noticed the stars. Had never seen them like that before - or hardly ever at all. Never know where beauty will appear.

In many ways the great thing is to be able to walk at all - and be able to continue to do so.

Let us take care of that ability.

Incredible photo---it's almost surreal.
Yours sort of goes along with mine today---keeping hold of the wonder and awe.

Agree, taking for granted the blessings surrounding us everyday due to our hectic schedule is kinda sad. We should take time to reflect on those. Nice message coupled with a wonderful photo.

The photo (is it yours?)captures my heart: in the mountains, high up, looking out at God's beautiful creation. Sun on my head, wind in my face, the smell of pine. Heaven.

Life is a miracle which we usually don't appreciate since we are so used to it. Thanks for the reminder.

I believe I've told you before that I am an admirer of the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh. HIs words inspire and just as one must make note of the miracle around us, we must stop and take in such wisdom.

Thanks for posting this, I've been so hurried lately, that I needed to remember to slow down and appreciate the beauty around me.
