Dear Becky...Nothing seems more simple and nurturing than a big slice of bread.. I'm pleased to say I can eat it now... as long as it is wholemeal and seeded .. so this one looks just perfect for me!! heheheHave a great start to the year... you can come clean my fridge out too if that will make you happy!! hehe.. Lots of love.. xxx Julie
Bread, the staff of life! Give us this day... So basic, so simple, so fundamental.Always good to visit with you.
Oh, yum ... is that top photo flatbread? It's one of my favorite Christmas treats.
These photos are awesome in their simplicity and earthiness. I agree wih Julie, Roasaria and Susie: nurturing, staff of life, and yum!Your words are ones to ponder and are humbling too. Good, thought-provoking post.
Oh wow - heavy quote - though very good. Delicious looking bread, too...can almost smell it!!
Mmm, those look like nice breads! Happy new year :)
Oh! Did you bake that wonderful bread, Becky? It's so yummy!!! Have a fantastic new year, dear friend!!Hugs!Mara
Do you have any to spare? I suddenly got hungry :-)Bread must be eaten without butter or anything else.
Bread is everything to me! My husband tries to stop me but....bread is what I crave! Best of the new year to you Becky!
both do look quite heavenly actually.nutritious and simple~laura xx
Just profound! So Biblical...I'm thinking loaves of bread and a few fishes....and "give a man a fish and feed him for a day or teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime". So many blessings that we have that it's hard to recognise how valuable a loaf of bread is. Thanks for making me think.
Beautiful Abbey! Nothing like the words of Mahatma Gandhi and Robert Browning to start your day. Thank you for this little slice of morning inspiration :)Jeanne xxx
Wow great you bring it out like this so true. And I would love to taste a little bit of your heaven...Hugs Dagmar
So beautiful, so true. I use to tell my family that I did not need dessert when there was bread, it was the best thing in the world to have to eat. Alas, I can no longer consume that which I loved most, but I am glad for those who can.xoxo
Perfect photos to go with perfect quotes.
Oh, Becky. I love that first quote. And you can't go wrong with Browning, either. Lovely reminders. Are you in Florida?
