everyday wonders + simple enchantments of daily life
+ good things to do + adapting a bit of the serene life of ancient abbeys to modern life at home
HI BeckyWell I love this Katherine Hepburn saying .. she is without a doubt my favourite.. and yes.. I only sleep on white sheets... that way my big 'indentation' doesn't fade the flowers.. hahahaha ....fab photos. Have a lovely day.. xxx Julie
I love this saying, too. Oh how I would LOVE to hang sheets outside again, but with neighborhood restrictions (stupid!) and all the pollens (gasp!) I haven't done this in a long time. Beautiful photo!!!Hugs,Jane
Ah, those wonderful days of hanging laundry out to whip around in the wind. Sun-warmed and wind tossed, white or colored, sheets smell so good when they have been warmed by the sun!
I love sun dried sheets... there's no other way that competes ;)I'm looking at what Jane has written and I'm wonderful what are neighborhood restrictions?best wishesRobyn
These simple maxims that seem wiser than I am are always true. I haven't slept on a coloured sheet since I was 12. Surely I must be very firmly me by now? And looking at that image, I'm inclined to go back to bed.
Katherine Hepburn...what a hoot!Hey...saw your kitchen! Darling!
I am in total agreement about white sheets except my husband travels a lot and brings home gifts of coloured sheets he thinks are so nice. I'm stuck with khaki and beige...no, no, no ...I tell him sheets MUST be white. He thinks I'm just being wierd.
Ah yes. I spent yesterday washing, starching and ironing my sheets. Spraying them with lavender. Sleeping last night was heaven.
i LOVE how laundry looks hanging outside. i love doing it too!it smells perfect.~laura
ooh- the smell of sun dried sheets - a wonderful way to fall asleep at night!
Lovely photo!!!I would love to hang my sheets out to dry.....but I have to admit...I really love the smell of my tropical scented fabric softner:)
my mother always hung the sheets on a line to dry ... the fresh air fragrance can't be duplicated.
My mother always had white sheets when I was a child. Thought it so boring as other women in the neighborhood has sheets with colors and patterns. I see the beauty in the white sheets now. This week, I get my clothes line restrung. Need those sheets from the line.
What a beautiful shot....
so pure...so white...bet they smell fresh, too.
i love the sheets that bring us worlds together...great quote!
Ha! I'd never heard that quote, but I love it! And I love your words and photo, too, dear. Beautiful.xoox,-maria
